Title: Driving School i30's
Post by: AlanHo on November 19, 2011, 12:11:22
I live about half a mile from a Government Driving Test Centre - so our local roads are well populated with people taking their driving tests - or learner drivers taking lessons.

Recently one of the big National driving schools (Bill Plant) ordered 600 i30 and 50 ix35 cars to add to their fleet of i20 cars - so they are a very familiar sight in our area. Some of the cars are possibly to Australian spec because you often see them Kangerooing as they pull away from standstill.

It speaks well for Hyundai that such a large driving school have now seemingly standardised on Hyundai vehicles.

Would have thought that the i30 and ix35 would have been to big to use as learner cars.

The i10 would make an idea learner car.

i think they are selling off their i20s. I've seen on another forum that the i20s power steering gets too hot and cuts out sometimes - not ideal for learners doing three-point turns. :)

Was this not on the news a good few months back, even a year? or maybe a different instructor, remember seeing it before tho, (not to be rude)

It does show well for Hyundai, and obviously if 5 students a week , who pass their test through him, buy a hyundai (even if it isnt a ix35, i20/i30 then thats even more business for them )

:D Happy days :D

Lately I also see a blue i30 in one of our driving schools. I just don't know if it is a small driving school (with 1 or 2 vehicles) or is there more of them (i30's).

Forgot to mention ,i think,
that a local driving instruction company are using, 2 x i20's and an i30 crdi :) he also has an IX35 for people wishing to do the license for towing a trailer.

Friend of mine is learning in the i30, and she loves it.
