Title: Center Fascia i30 1.6CRDI auto, '10 plate
Post by: bigmeat on December 05, 2011, 00:16:17
Hi everyone, i'm new to the forum, having just bought a '10 plate 1.6CRDi auto.
I can't believe how much better the build quality is since the old Accent we had a few years ago.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I want to fit a double din GPS/DVD head unit, and have found one on ebay. I'll also need the center console, which for my car needs the two slots for the thumb wheels (in another post i read someone called them 'email' and 'bacon'...)
I'm having a lot of trouble finding the appropriate console. The only one i've found is stated as being for a LHD. I mailed the seller to ask if it will fit RHD, but he doesn't know.
Has anyone fitted one? The console looks symmetrical, but i'd hate to fork out around £50 for the console and another £320 for the head unit and be stuck. If anyone can help, or has fitted one i'd really appreciate some advice. I don't want to break forum rules by posting links to active auctions, but they shouldn't be hard to find on ebay.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Al

Hey Al,

I cant see this being an issue, as There is no difference in the centre dash, *going from pictures* , just the steering wheel is on the wrong side ;)

Different facias are available, depending on the cost you want to factor in

(stated for LHD) however UK seller, and very trusted.

This is what i went for, involves some cutting of oem fasica however.

Any other questions feel free to ask :)

Ah great, thanks for the replies. The 2 facias you've both suggested are the same as the one I found on ebay for £48.99

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hyundai-i30-Double-Din-L-H-D-CD-Fascia-Panel-CT23HY19L-/350465416997?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51995ddf25 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hyundai-i30-Double-Din-L-H-D-CD-Fascia-Panel-CT23HY19L-/350465416997?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51995ddf25)

The seller didn't know if it would fit RHD, but I guess from what you've said that it will. The cutting option would obviously be cheaper, but there's no way my wife will let me cut up her car...

Now just got to sort the Satnav/DVD player. Think i'll be going for this one.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-DVD-GPS-DVB-T-Player-VW-PASSAT-B5-TRANSPORTER-/280670308529?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item41594108b1 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-DVD-GPS-DVB-T-Player-VW-PASSAT-B5-TRANSPORTER-/280670308529?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item41594108b1)

I've spoken with the seller, and for £329 he'll include the maps, & reversing camera, and obviously all the appropriate leads for the i30. Don't suppose anyone has any experience with this unit?
I realise it's a cheapo Chinese thing, but I can't stretch to any more money & the SatNav DVD combo, and Digital TV seems like a pretty good idea.

Thanks again for your help.

Al

Yes it will fit Right hand drive models :)
I would prefer this fascia, and purchase the likes of a pioneer, alpine or kenwood sat nav unit, Yes they are more expensive, but yes they do a far better job!
If you purchase the Kenwood via your Hyundai Dealer (UK only i think) and allow them to install it etc, they you get a 5 year warranty with the Kenwood system, as Kenwood and Hyundai have set this deal up together :)
