Title: i30 aerial question
Post by: ttocswahs on December 05, 2011, 09:19:40
Hi All, pick my i30 up on Wednesday, but I have a a query about the aerial fitting to the standard stereo.  I will be putting my Sony head unit in to replace the standard unit, but need to know whether I need to purchase an aerial adaptor or not?

It is a 2007 57 i30 Premium.

Thanks,

Scott

Hey Scott,

Yes you will need an adapter as the hyundai standard aerial connection is a square connection, not the standard din connection( cylinder barrel)

Also if you are installing your standard stereo, single din, you will need one of these,

Double din variant is available, easy enough to find, ebay etc.

Any issues let me know il try and help u :)

:) Good luck, and health to drive, look forward to the pictures of it.

As far as i know, for the newer models, without a cubby hole, its slightly harder to remove the fascia, though I think (I may stand corrected!) That a trim removal tool, or very flat blade of sorts will be needed to remove the plastic fascia now, possible from the windscreen side of the fascia, and lever down towards the back of the car? As i said, don't quote me on it, I have to do it on a newer model, mine had the cubby hole on top which made it soo much easier.

Speaking of pics, do you have any of yours with the RX8 alloys on it?  Also I notice you have a sports kit, is that the MS Design one?
