Hi people,
My new i30 hatch was purchased as a demo toward the end of it's rego period so was not a new car. That means that I bought a car that was in showroom condition where any early faults had been rectified but was not a new car package. With the keys came two tags with numbers one of which should be the key number. Can someone tell me the correct format of the key number? I have HK**** and 31**** where each * is a numeral.

Mal, is there anything in the owner's manual about the key codes???
-
Yep, it's what started me looking. It says that there should be a bar code with the keys and to copy the number onto something safe but not in the car. I have no bar code, just 2 numbers on plastic tags.

Mal, I'd give the dealer a call if I were you.

I've got an email war going with him at the moment about lack of information in the Owners manual about the raidio/bluetooth in my car. Waiting him to get back to work from Xmas. I'm dealing with the salesman that sold the car. The key number is next on the agenda.
Item of interest - played golf today :blubber: with a guy from Peugeot who told me they sell 30 or more demo vehicles per year. People are conned thinking they get a cheaper car when in fact they could negotiate a new car to the same price. It's a good way for the firm to move cars without worrying about colours etc.

The number on my key code tag is HK1959

Thank you AlanHo. That fits in perfectly with one of my numbers. I shall check that with the salesman but I reckon that's the one. :brilliant: :brilliant: :brilliant:
