Title: Parking light, Normal or LED?

after installing the new 100W Hi beam bulb, i added the LED push in parking light bulb to replace the standard incandescent bulb.

which do you prefer?

i have noticed though the LED cannot be seen as on when in daylight whereas the original one can.

the LED is the blue one. on the right looking at the photo.

I've had LED push-ins for a while now and they can be seen in daylight, tho to be honest we always have gloomy days here.

I prefer the whiteness of the replacement.

I wasted a few pounds on a couple of sets which wouldn't fit through the hole, but those I have now are superb.

I think its too blue, if it was more white, 6000K equivelent then would be better suited. Though if it matches the Hi beam colour then not an issue

i think you can get the led bulbs in different colors.  :idea:

I'd like to qualify my previous comment.
The one shown is too dim. However, LED's are definitely the way to go. To fix this situation, look for white led's of a sufficient brightness, similar to the daytime lights commonly available today. If necessary, I'd order some DRL's and modify the existing one. Either way, it has to be as bright as that to be effective. Blue is a very bad colour to see in the dark. Yes they look good, but they are not good for your eyes and at that level don't show objects very well. This is why fog lights are predominately yellow in colour.

If you can get a white led of sufficient brightness, they will consume far less battery power than an ordinary bulb. I too am interested in going full led, but I haven't sourced satisfactory replacements yet. Good luck in your quest & please keep us informed on your progress.  :neutral:

I've tried a couple of times to get my side lights out. As I understand it you pull the black bulb holder out of the back of the light cluster. Not on mine, I've removed both light clusters, stuck them on the dining room table for easy access and no matter what I do the side light holder won't budge.

I even tried a pair of pliers on one, and it still wouldn't move! The black plastic holder has indentations on two sides, and I can see what looks like plastic notches where they sit in the light cluster.

So what am I doing wrong?
