Hi All,
Picked up my i30 before xmas but just got round to saying hello :)
I have got a Shine Red 2007 i30 CRDi Premium after trading in my beloved 2007 Coupe which had to go, as it was killing me in fuel and road tax costs.
I am pretty interested in adding a double din head unit, so I am after any recommendations that you have in your cars.
Cheers,
Scott

Welcome Scott.. Have a play with the search button (until someone pipes up with some suggestions) :goodjob:
-
welcome aboard Scott. both my i30's have still got the factory head units in them.
-
Welcome from Australia.
I'm from Yorkshire.
And I have an i30.
Spooky. :scared:

Welcome :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

Welcome from the other side of the Pennines

I take it you mean the integrated sat nav/radio/bluetooth all singing all dancing jobby ????? Which is what I wanted two years ago when I got my shiny red one. I did look at the one from China which was the sort of money that I might have afforded but whilst doing my research I found a forum in which a guuy bought one which was, according to him, next to useless. At which my my A** dropped out, so I now have a Nuvi 1490t instead <sigh>...
I will follow your thread with interest, oh and welcome aboard, also, don't worry bouot being from Yorkshire, we're a very forgiving lot here

Welcome on board (= as said, use the search feature :)
I have added a proper double din myself, and there is somebody else on the site, Australian, blue estate ( I can remember their name, so apologies) who has added one also.
Cost wise, the sky is your limit. from £250 upwards and over £1,000, depend what you want
2007 Premium in shine red, you can use my car as an inspiration :)
Glorious cars, and much health to drive, hope you enjoy your time with it.
Must be some difference not sitting so close to the ground.
All the best of fun,
Sye

Hi Scott,
:welcome: to the club!
-
Welcome to the club, Scott
-
Thanks for the welcomes. It is slightly different to the Coupe, it doesn't give me as much confidence to throw it into a corner, but that will be the higher centre of gravity and body roll :)
I did do a quick search before and saw syecadelic's install, will prob go for something similar myself...by butchering my stereo fascia with a dremel :D Apart from that it doesn't look like a common upgrade.
I was toying with the idea of the MS Design Kit, but that is on the back burner for now...the wife is looking at houses :undecided:
Cheers,
Scott

Takes a few deep breaths before attacking the fascia chum, think thats the reason it isn't too common. But easy enough to do :)
Seen the MS kit on ebay recently, in red, from a seller, its hard to get hold of, and they were selling it cheaply, rather irritated, as a months before I had just bought the sports kit (non OEM).
A set of sports springs, (spax) or alternative help a lot with the handling :)
-
And a Welcome here from myself Scott... from beautiful Shropshire...
-
Cheapest I have seen the kit for is £250 in Shine Red, like I say, that is on hold at the moment. It looks ok and I can put the cash towards the headunit :)

Could you post a link to it? :) would love the front apron still, with the splitter, not to fond of the one on mine lol
£250 is very reasonable

I think they do, If its the same company that was selling on eBay before, I emailed them out of curiosity, and they quoted only £25!! <-- ive been quoted more for a headunit from england, £50 to be precise. Surprised me
