Post by: batteoui on January 26, 2012, 15:21:45
Hello, Me again  :P
I saw also on ebay a universal TPMS kit. I think it costed around 140 $ or so. I really love the idea of having one retrofitted.
Did anyone istalled such device ?. Please share your experience and feedback.

Thanks

Not sure about eBay ones, however some alloy wheel dealers can sell them, it means mounting/installing a separate monitor somewhere in the car

The OEM ones has been a bit troublesome (brittle alloy valve stems) so just keep that in mind with aftermarket ones ( want a good warranty)

I was recently looking at an aftermarket TPMS kit as well but with some bad experience from others about the stalks breaking etc what I ended up looking at was an external sensor kit as per the TyreDog TD1300A-X with 5 sensors. It can be picked up for about $235 from ebay and since it is an external kit, you can easily change the batteries, install by yourself and comes with locking nuts if you are paranoid that it might come off. The 4 sensor kit is about $160 or there about as well from ebay.
