I have a carpet set in my i30 but was wondering if anyone knows of a tailored rubber floor mat set that is available for the i30?
I prefer rubber as the carpet mat on the driver's side is becoming worn and hard to clean.
Thanks.
Dave

I was given a set of rubber mats when I purchased my i30 as a gift along with GPS navigator :P
There must be some in any dealer's show rooms, not to mention car shops

Hyundai in Australia only have carpet mats.
Car shops I've checked over here only have generic rubber mats, not tailor fitted.
And the only tailored rubber floor mats I've been able to find are in the U.K. and they don't ship overseas. :disapp:

There must be some in Korea definitely and in Russia
Isn't this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Rubber-Winter-Car-Mats-HYUNDAI-I30-NOV-2009-/150711681720?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item23171dc2b8#ht_1451wt_1163) what you're looking for?
Though my set of mats have high upturns (is this word correct  :undecided:)

Yes, I'll have a closer look at those, thanks.
The ones I found were in the UK too but they didn't ship overseas but it looks like this company does so I'll check it out. :)
It sounds like you have the proper rubber trays (with the upturned sides) which are good.
I used to have those in a Volvo I once owned and they were great.

What stops you from asking one of our friends from UK to buy one set and send it away to you?

And it was free of charge :happydance:

They may be "tailored" but they look as if they are cut from rubber sheet. Household rubber door mats could be cut to size in that way.
I have tray mats that are a fairly good fit in the front foot wells. Bought them in the car section of QD household superstore.

I can do better than that - send me a business class return plane ticket and I will make a personal delivery...........
And what's more - I won't charge you a cent for the maps.............. :whistler:

Maybe, and maybe I could do something similar.
It would be good to get the proper securing points though to stop it sliding around.

I think if you used the existing carpet mats as a template the rubber mats would not need anchors to stay in place..
-
You could also add some velcro, (the hook part only) to the bottom of the mats, I think they'd grip the existing "carpet".

I punched holes in the stepped flange of mats to use the existing hooks :happydance: My photography isn't brilliant but I will try to post some photos

Thanks everyone for your replies - some good ideas there.
I need to do something as the driver's side mat is getting rather grubby. :)

I bought a $25 set from supercheap auto
fits well and very sturdy.
I always liked rubber mats better than carpet. My carpet mats used to deteriorate with use. The rubber ones can simply be pulled out and hosed down to clean. :happydance:

That's what I ended up doing and I'm surprised how well they fit being only generic ones.
And they only cost about $8 for the pair.

Well, off you go then, Dave. Say hi to all the Pommie members for me while you're over there.

mine too, they fit almost perfectly
Most rubber mats can be cut to size if you don't care about how they look

(think of buying one with KIA logo)

I don't really have a need for one due to all the storage compartments in the i30 (FD) but I have seen these in shops before.
