Purvis is the correct spelling.
One of my mate sin the Renault Car Club bought one of them (red) sometime in the mid 80's.
More than any other car which visited my house in those days (including fully developed rally cars and Holden Precision Drive cars, the Purvis attracted every neighbourhood kid for miles around.
Caught up with him late last year at the RCCQ 40th Anniversary dinner and he tells me he still has it.[/i]

Ital Design .... Giugiaro's 1974 styling exercise, never made it into production
i think Shambles was first but probably used Uncle Google. Prize? ....goes to Dave

Not a Ford as far as I'm aware.

Maybe Ford's bought the makers at sometime but not a Ford when it was built.

It is actually the Packard Patrician Vision concept car shown at the 1956 Detroit car Exhibition. It was the result of collaboration with Rolls Royce who designed a plush interior and tuned the formerly gruff and noisy engine for refinement and virtual silence. This came at the price of a significant reduction in power and torque.

The Packard development engineers - smarting that an English company had been involved - dubbed it the Packard Rolls Canardly.

They claimed it rolls downhill fine - but canardly get back up again............ :whistler:

Didn't the later model Patrician have a wrap around windscreen?
