I’m slightly worried about the Koreans.
I’m concerned because I can see the prices of these cars creeping up.
The cheapest model in the range is the 1.4 petrol Classic at £14,495.

wow, that's roughly $28,000 in Australia. that price was based on a 1.4,imagine what the 2.0 petrol or the 1.6 crdi will cost. :scared: :faint:

Being curious I tried to compare the new i30 1.6 CRDi Style 6 speed manual with a similarly equipped Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.
In the case of the Focus and Golf I had to add option packs for many of the features standard on the i30. Even then neither car includes them all.
List prices - On the road UK
Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDi Style 6 speed manual (110PS) £ 18,995
Ford Focus 1.6 1.6 Duratorq TDCi 6 speed manual (115PS) £ 20,395
Volkswagen Golf Blue Motion 1.6TDi 5 speed manual (105PS) £ 21,750
You can see why the Volkswagen CEO was rattled by the i30 at the Frankfurt Motor Show - a difference of almost £ 3,000 between the i30 and an almost equivalent Golf

Dont forget that Autobild (German equivalent of UK's Auto Express) stated that Germans actually rate Hyundai as a higher quality brand than German cars... I'll see if I can find a Link...
