Title: Where is the OBDII sensor? Sorry for the noob question
Post by: dmashal on February 11, 2012, 22:18:09
New member here, have a 2009 Elantra Touring and the yellow exclamation light is on. Where exactly is the OBD2 sensor located? I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

On mine, in the UK (RHD), it's under the dash near my right knee (recessed slightly within its own little hidey hole)

So I found it, very well hidden, it's actually closer to the left side on my car. Got 0 codes. Actually I have a yellow exclamation light on. What does that mean?

What item does it relate to?
Also, the handbook should be checked as they are good in providing an explanation for this symbol.

How old is the car?
as I'd be going to the dealer to let them sort it out under warranty.

The only explanation mark relates to the low tyre pressure TPMS system, so you will need to put some air in the tyres.

Not unless they are referring to the Parking Brake & brake fluid dual symbol of which 1 is an explanation mark

My 2011 model has a second port in the engine compartment near th firewall.

Yep, same here on the 2008 grandads model :)

Pretty sure that port is an engie's diag port, not OBD compliant
