Title: 3 blink, when activating turn signal.
Post by: Flensborg on February 20, 2012, 22:02:36
First, sorry for my english. I'am Dane and also new on this forum.

In Denmark vi have to blink 3 times, when we change lanes on the highway. Many cars here automaticly blink 3 times, when you just give the turn signal arm a little push, but not my new I30. Does any of yours do that or are there an easy modyfi for it?

Hi again Flensborg. Please do not worry about your English. It's quite OK and you are easy to understand.

I can't help you with you question but other members might be able to .

My September 2010 i30 does not blink 3 times - you have to hold the stalk up or down lightly and the indicators blink until you let it go.

If it's the law in Denmark that the indicator has to blink at least 3 times, isn't it strange that Hyundai can sell vehicles there that don't do that?

I guess it's quite easy to fit a module (or even make your own) that will actuate the indicator relay the required minimum number of times when the stalk is moved. Actually, thinking about it more, I'll bet the Body Control Module (BCM) could be updated to do it.

Welcome to the forum chap, your English is good enough for us :)

Some members have reported having this option already, so it must only be a matter of programming.

I think this feature was introduced on the MY11 i30 but haven't tested it in Trish's (wife's) car..

Recently I found the same thing. Our 2011-2012 i30 has that function, but those in or before 2010 didn't.

Mine 2011 i30 (Czech plant) doesn't have this feature (it is also not in the options that can be activated by the dealer).

We have discussed this before on here.
Coz I remember posting about the hire car we had in the UK in 2010 which had the feature and it annoyed the crap out of me.

Had this feature on the loan car -- Corsa.

It was OK when overtaking on m/way but around town I had to keep activating it so others behind knew what I intended to do.

Most new Vauxhalls have this feature now, it's OK if you are used to it... but flamin annoying if not... In the hired Astra I had if I used the indicator gently I'd get a few blinks, if I used the indicator stalk more firmly it would lock on constant as "normal".

Hi Flensborg

You can get an aftermarket solution to mount.

This is from Astina - have shop in Grindsted, but of course you can buy it on their website.

Welcome to the forum, here's a lot of help when you need it.

Hi

@Asterix, I have seen that solution, but I then have to cut in the wires of an almost new car. I would rather like a solution, where I don't have to do that.
I hoped, that I just could do it by programming or with a plugin module.

Hi, I am Shane in Australia. Yes!! My car blinks 3 times when you touch the indicator lever. Apparently this is a feature on the SLX and the SR and not on the basic or entry level SX model. It took a little bit of getting used to for me but I think it is quite a good feature in that instead of turning on the indicator, all I do now is "bump" it to change lanes and stops automatically.
Welcome to the club by the way and there is no problem with your English. I hope I have helped. :happydance: :happydance:

I believe the feature is called "One-touch triple turn signal" (http://www.hyundaimanuals.org/hyundai-750.html (http://www.hyundaimanuals.org/hyundai-750.html))

Only std on the SLX pack and above here in OZ. My SX does not have this but I care little as the rest of the standard features like - Auto door lock heated mirrors are awesome
