Title: Computer DNS Virus Warning
Post by: AlanHo on February 21, 2012, 09:38:38
Tool available for those affected by the DNS-Changer

There exists some malware sitting on many users computers that will trigger on March 8th and prevent them from accessing the internet.  This only affects Windows computers.

Read this – it might be important to you

Most anti-malware software suppliers will have issued updates to remove the bug – but my son’s computer was found to be infected when he ran a tool issued by Avira.
Avira provides a tool which checks whether your computer is safe (mine was OK so I did not need to run the repair part)

Download the tool here :-

Note:
The tool doesn't send any data through the internet. An installation of the tool is not required.
However, a restart of Windows will be necessary after the execution of the tool and a successful repair.

The malware also prevents security updates and disables installed security software

Useful info from the article writer if you wonder why you've had no "patch tuesday" updates since last November :)
