Title: Headlight hazehalo shadow
Post by: eye30 on October 30, 2008, 19:15:18: Now that we in UK are back to GMT I'm now driving more in the dark.

I never noticed this before but yesterday while driving in the dark, lights on dipped no street lights, I noticed a sort of "haze halo shadow" on the edge of the light beam.

Didn't appear to be there when I put full beam on.

Original factory fitted bulbs and no modifications to lighting.
Anyone else noticed this?

Post by: Shambles on October 30, 2008, 19:29:27: Sorry eye30 can't help. Never drove Fergie in the dark before this past week but I already changed the bulbs to nightbreakers, which are crystal clear - no haze.

I'll bet bumpkin can check this for you.

Could it be the windscreen creating the effect maybe?

Can't say I've noticed anything on mine. A lot of my driving is in lit areas so the lights are not really doing much. Next time I am in the proper dark I will look closer for you.

Most (if not all) projector beam headlights will blueish tinge just befor the cut off line.
Is this what your talking about?

Post by: bumpkin on November 06, 2008, 16:22:24: Noticed this on mine last night returning from the fireworks, little rainbow at the outer edge of the beam which was really noticable when behind a dark coloured vehicle.

Didn't bother me particularly, probably noticed it more cause you asked!!

Yes, not a problem but never had it on other cars.

Is it the light configuration with the perspex cover and the way the light shines thro this cover?
