Title: Dazz & Trish ROAD TRIP (with Pix) Part 2
Post by: Dazzler on April 09, 2012, 05:47:24
I'm trying to keep it in order as much as I can but have thrown in a couple of pix taken on the Spirit of Tasmania...

On the way up we were accompanied  by numerous Collectable Ferraris (Dozens ) that were involved in some Tassie event but they were housed on another vehicle deck .. On the way home we had the company of quite a few MGBs.. as per this picture...

Here is Trish and I on the Deck of the Spirit ..

anyway on with the trip..

One of my Brothers has moved back from France to live in his flat in the middle of Manly (beachside suburb of Sydney) it would be a fifth the size of our house but worth quite a bit more than ours due to the position. He has lived there on and off for over 10 years.. Great spot .. could have easily spent several days there...

This is the view from his sitting room..

and some photos taken with my phone when we went for a walk.. (I forgot to take a camera)

This Pond in the front yard near Steven's place is 5 feet deep with hundreds of fish and thousands of litres of water.. All the fish bar 1 were poisoned by vandals with paint in 2009 but the locals all rallied around to help get it cleaned up and donated fish .. many are more than a foot long again now(amazing)  :goodjob:

While I'm doing random photos saw this i30 on our travels (my Daughter's name is Ash.. she would love this car)

When we went to South West Rocks north of Sydney, we stayed with OPA-1 (Nic and Wendy) in their lovely home...(amazing hospitality again)

Nic was showing us around and SAVED OR LIVES  :sweating: :faint: when he came round the corner on a narrow scenic drive (in his i30 CRDi) and had to swerve to avoid a Mazda on the wrong side of the road...  :disapp:

and we just thought we had to look out for Kangaroos which were everywhere  :whistler:

Look Closely...

That might do for number two (Lots more to come)

Dazz, that rocky point out in the middle of this pic is Fairy Bower where I spent most of my surfing time while living in Sydney. And the area in the foreground comes alive during the Manly Food and Music Festival.

That picture was taken by my brother on a different day.. The weather wasn't bad the day we were there. On the morning we left it was nice and sunny... A magic place (so much to see - so little time) ..

Was going to take a ferry ride to the city and meet up with Lakes for tea but he had to work late at short notice  :disapp:

Agreed Sydney is a magic place. There is enough to see around there and into the mountains and south and north on the coast, you could spend months there and still not see it all.

Great pics Dazz  :thanx:
Many years ago we did a caravan trip when the girls were little and ended up at Batemans Bay and we found it very difficult to leave.
There are some great spots on the NSW coast.

It's not the equipment you have that is important. It is how you use it.  :)

Well, so I'm told. On good authority.  :whistler:
It's not the zoom on your lens that's important, it's the quality of its construction.
Hence, you can get perfectly good results using your compact.

I have been lucky enough to visit Australia 5 times - taking in just the areas around Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Only two of the trips were holidays so my travels there have been somewhat limited.

So - I may not always respond to posts with videos or photos of people's travels - but I sure do enjoy them. Sometimes they awaken memories, sometimes they add to my knowledge and sometimes they make me consider taking another holiday there. My wife has never been to Australia but hates long haul flights - so it may not ever happen.

I am also a fan of the threads about the choice of a suitable car video set-up. I remain tempted but I find the subject confusing and am still awaiting a proven low cost solution available in the UK with acceptable quality.

So thanks for your efforts Dazz and thanks too to the others who have posted stuff - I find the travel threads fascinating.

Thanks.. I'm glad Members have enjoyed them..  :happydance:

Still working on the videos .. Because we were on a tight schedule I'm a bit disappointed with the video content .. we didn't get much time for detours  :disapp:
