Just to say "hello" as I've just found this forum when trying to find out information on the new i30.
I'm just starting a new job soon and have chosen the i30 as my new company car as it and the Kia Ceed was the only two vehicles that met the spec I wanted, was low CO2 and had a list price of under £19K (the limit enforced by the company).
As I would have to wait another couple of months to for the new Ceed, the Hyundai has won. And my wife liked the look of it when we viewed one last week. So I have chosen a white 1.6CDRi Style Blue Drive.
I currently have a 2010 Kia Ceed 3 SW and my wife has a Kia Soul 2 - both 1.6 CDRi, but pre-DPF.

Welcome d3matt.
I think the Hy brand is a better finish than the Kia brand even tho' they are built on the same platform.
I think that as you are getting the new i30 shape you'll be the envy of the rest at your company when they see it... They will all want one......
ps it would be great if you can give a write up, similar to AlanHo's but to compare it to the Cee'd.

I will do.
I think the previous Ceed (particularly the MkII) was far better than the i30. And particularly on estate version as the Ceed has a far larger rear capacity and nicer styling.
It also looks like the new Ceed will have more kit than the i30, but it wont be until mid next month until the UK specs and prices are released. For example, the Ceed is coming with the parallel parking system and other goodies that are also available on the UK Optima so should also be on the UK Ceed specs.
But I would admit that the hyundai badge does have a little bit more credibility with the badge snobs in the UK, but that is changing fast as Peter Schreyer's team are producing some amazing looking vehicles now and Kia is aiming to have a more sportier image than it's Hyundai sister.

Welcome d3matt,
As your vehicle is a company car, you will be in a good position to inform our members how the car performs, with a few miles logged up over time. How many miles p.a. do you think you'll do
