A word trip today took me to Oakey, via Toowoomba.
At Oakey I was able to meet Fat Boy,aka Jamie. We had a coffee and a good chat, mainly about our i30s and the friends we've made on the forum. Jamie's a great bloke but has no control over his missus! She booked their i30 in for a service today, so I was not able to ogle the Fat Boy mobile.
Here's a shot of Fat Boy with Lubricious.

After leaving Oakey, I headed to Toowoomba and had lunch with komatapillar, aka Brett.Brett's a nice young bloke who has a very good knowledge of the mechanical workings of the i30. Unfortunately, Mrs K was hard a work so was not able to join us.
Here's Brett with our cars. BTW, I can see why Mrs K is so excited about her new wheels. They look fantastic.

On the way back to Brisbane, I saw this colourful little hatch at my fuel stop. I just couldn't help myself!!

Here's another hatch that shot past me on the Warego Highway.

All in all, a great day. Oh, I did manage to squeeze some work in too.

Thanks for stopping in, UM. It was great to catch up and have a chat and a coffee before I head south.
I must say, your i30 is the best I've seen. Well appointed and well looked after. The i45's rims on the car look rather good, as do all the other mods you have done to your car (DRLs, spotties, badges and stickers). That bloke standing in front of it is a rather striking fellow too!! :whistler:
-
I couldn't agree more, Fatboy. Oh, apart from your last sentence.
When Mrs UM saw surferdude's pic, she thought he looked hot and a bit like surfing legend, Nat Young.
She hasn't seen your pic yet, but with her record, she'll probably think you look like Tom Cruise

Look forward to meeting more of you, maybe next sundy

I'll post a couple of pics later, I'm on me phone at the moment and photobucket doesn't play nicely with it.

And the hole in the Ozone layer is right above Tassie. I wouldn't worry about the hole though, there is nothing in it.

FatBoy, I meant to ask you that this morning, do choppers fly better with or without ozone?
-
Ah, the age old question. The truth is helicopters can't actually fly, they are so ugly that the earth naturally repels them, and as Tassie is the most beautiful place in Australia, and opposites attract, then naturally helicopters fly better on the Mainland.

Thanks for that informative explanation, Fatboy, I think :'(

I suspect our air force is in trouble. :scared:

I reality, helicopters (and in particular, gas turbine helicopters) prefer cool, clear, dry air. The engines and rotors are more efficient. So they have a larger "power margin" in Tassie. They produce more power and require less. Hot and humid is the worst for performance.

I've noticed the same thing in the bedroom... :p
