Title: Caving in Tassie
Post by: Dazzler on November 09, 2008, 09:13:29
Hi Folks,

Thought I'd test the new camera at King Soloman Caves near Deloraine in Tasmania.. Took over 120 photos with and without flash (mostly on auto) with pleasing results .. here are just a selection reduced to less than 16% of the original size.. The last one is a shot of the road on the way home...

Down my way???   :whistler:
Steve, you do realise they are something like 280 kilometres from my place?...  :p

Been to Hastings Caves a few times, Daz....and while they are pretty amazing, I think Buchan Caves are even better..... :p

Oh, and thanks Daz & Steve for fixing things so I could post... :D

Nothing against you personally Nutz  - the section had been offlined to almost everyone. Thinking about it, there was no real need to have done that

I've been to the Jenolan Caves west of Sydney. Pretty spectacular.
But the real surprise is at Wellington in NSW, just south east of Dubbo.
There's just a pretty unobtrusive sign. I went in there one day when I was travelling for work and ahead of schedule.
It's like an almost flat plain and virtually only a few hundred meters off the highway.
Underground they open up into an awesome complex - not Jenolan Caves standard but all the more spectacular for the blandness of the surrounding countryside.
