Title: New Arrival

It's a 1983 Jaguar Series 3 XJ6 and I bought it because it's a factory 4.2, 5 speed manual, which are pretty rare in Australia (not sure about the U.K).
99.9% of them sold here were autos.
Digital photos make it look better than it really is, but it's not bad, all there, just needs some TLC.
I've made it a bed out in the carport with the other pussies.

I went over it today and photographed everything as a starting point.
The interior's pretty tired but to be expected for a 29 year old car.
The outside looks good until you inspect it closely. It has been resprayed and I don't think the painter could be called the best in his field :)
It's very original though and as you say, being a factory 5 speed makes it worth having.
The car is a Sovereign which gives it the luxury stuff over the base model, such as power sunroof, climate control, etc, which for 1983 was pretty good.
The previous owner has kept sheepskins over the leather, front & back, and leather doesn't like not being able to breathe so it's not in the best condition.
And the tiber needs re-doing.
But in ten years' time you won't recognize it :lol:
