As 1.6crdi's are rated at 125 g/km mine will go down next year..
Do Oz drivers pay annual road tax?
-
Hi eye30,
No, there's no specific tax on it... yet.

If I read that correctly mine will also decrease, to £90. Woohoo

Yes Shambles but they make up with the extra tax on fuel!!!!!!!!!
So we don't gain

Interesting that my sister's Toyota Prius is currently taxed at £15 pa, which doesn't show on the 2007-2008 "current prices" list

In mainland Europe they have a low power 66 kw i30 1.6crdi. I'm not sure if it's on sale in UK yet but will be £35 road fund tax.
Ireland also sell the 66kw but not in UK yet according to HY UK web site
I remember seeing these low taxes on the DVLA web site but can't find it now.
If I find I'll post link.

What happens to all this tax money?
-
Well that a sore point.
It doesn't go on the roads but into the governments coffers to shore up the economy and pay for all sorts of wild schemes, armed forces overseas and benefits.
It been estimated that since the fuel cost have gnoe up a third the government have racked in £2 BILLION EXTRA from what they budgeted for but the don't give any back.

That would be over the past 32 weeks according to my "info". Shameless stuff. Robbery even. No wonder they've just shelved the 2p/litre tax increase
