This road test of the new Elantra ran in this week's edition of the Sunshine Coast "Property".
Extremely complimentary.

Thanks Rusty - I like reading road reports and it's good to get a positive.
I was parked a couple of weeks ago outside a Dome cafe in Victoria Park enjoying a fat white and there was a new Elantra Elite parked next to my outside table.
It really stood out with its larger alloy wheels, sunroof, etc and it got a few admiring glances as people walked past (unless they were looking at me :undecided:).

I agree Rusty. Both this one and the Accent when they came out last August caught me by surprise. I don't pay a lot of attention to road tests these days so my first knowledge they existed was seeing one in the flesh.
Both are IMO exceptional looking cars.
BTW for my son who is due to buy a new car in the next few months I did up one of those comparisons you can build on the Hy Oz website and transferred the info to an Excel spreadsheet.
If someone can tell me how to show that on here (maybe by a link to some third party site???), I'll post it up.
Includes the Elantra, Mazda 3, Corolla and a couple of others.
It does make interesting reading.

I would just do it as a screen capture Trev or you might be able to save the file as a Jpeg .. then post it like any other image file but make it fairly big please so I can read it.... :winker:
I like the look of the Elanta and Accent sedan more than the Accent hatch.. I still think the i40 is a nicer (more refined) car than the Elantra. I found the Elantra I drove a bit low rent the Higher models might be nicer...

Maybe a site such as this? :undecided:

OK Thanks Rusty. I already had an account with them for some sound bites.
Let's try this
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?kv4yvvlnb81j207 (http://www.mediafire.com/view/?kv4yvvlnb81j207)
OK. So the link works. It's a bit hard to read but with some experimenting you'll get the gist of it.
I also think if you're really interested you can download the file. Yes, you can - comes down as an Excel sheet exactly as i developed it.
-
Thanks Trev .. that was good. I've used that comparison site to compare 3 or 4 but not that many.. be interesting to see where the Honda Civic fits in.. :goodjob: (the Elantra wins on quite a few fronts..) :D

You can add in as many as you like, but only one extra at a time so I set up a grid, including one extra, copy and past it to excel, then go back and change the one extra option, download that sheet to excel and cut and paste the new car column back onto the first page downloaded.
In the above example I added 3 different Mazda 3 models as they were what Cameron was interested in. But he agrees now the Elantra blows the Mazdas away.
Somewhere I still have the one I did for my sister-in-law when she was looking at the i20 and about 5 or 6 others. In the end we discovered the Accent which suited her size-wise, better.
I think I had the i20, Mazda2, Barina, Nissan Micra, Suzuki Swift, Kia Rio, Ford Fiest and Toyota Yaris.

I hate to say it but out of the i20 and Kia Rio I would probably lean towards the Rio as i like the styling and think it still comes with a 1.6 :whistler:

Yeah. Once we discovered the 1.6 had been removed from the i20 range it wasn't going to get a look in. Fortunately the Accent appeared and for only a little more $ it was a clear winner.
