The new website is ready to "GO LIVE". Before we do this we want everyone
to try it out and test all the features to make sure it works fine. This way we can
sort out any bugs before we switch over.

Just a few things as I need to go shower then shop.
1. Intrasite links still point back to this board, as they would of course. They'll need looking at and I can fix those
3. Moderator edits show date & time of edit in the post. Would be better if there was an option to hide this
7. More later when I've played
-
Apart from the Avatars being a bit small and missing the brightly coloured ticks for unread posts all seems good to me.
The ever observant Shambles won't leave any stone unturned...I'm sure 8-)

4. Notifications of new replies to a post do not happen. No email received
5. Selecting a PM to read shows all other PMs attached to it, making it look like one huge PM
Shambles, excellent points and that is exactly why it is important to have real people look at these things prior to implementation.
1. When the site is moved to the new host, it will still have the same URL once it re-delegates... actually, no that is not quite true... i30Dave wants to have the forum sitting in /forum and a static site in the root folder. So, you are right, any links that are internal will need to have /forum in them. If you could find and edit these, that would be good, but it may be a large task...
3. There is probably an option - I've only really been working on all the backend server stuff and I have not really looked at the admin configuration yet, but I'm sure i30Dave will.
5. Yeah, that is a little strange. I guess it is a feature, by design, but it is not familar behaviour. Again, there may be an option for this in the admin config somewhere.
Keep 'em coming, it woud be good to get as many bugs ironed out as possible before it goes live.

Can't find how to change 5. or 3.
Somebody's found the calender
-
I too can't find any options to change 3 &5 in the default admin config. There may be a mod for it, but I'm not that familiar with SMF. Still, it's not a show-stopper at the moment. Any others?

What screen resolution are you using
-
As an aside, the main googlemap link has gone, although the secondary link (to google) is fine.

At last we can sticky topics like that too

This is a good point. At 800x600 (the lowest common denominator of web design), the login box becomes invisible, completely covered by the logo. At 1024x768, it is visible, but with an edge trimmed off. I'd guess bill03 is some strange resolution between these 2, perhaps in a window that is not full sized to the screen. While these days most of us have high res screens, there are still a few that don't. It may be hard to mess with the theme to allow for these lower resolutions, but I'll leave that to i30dave.

I was using IE NOT at full screen though, hence the problem. I'm running at 1400*1050 and at FULL screen all is ok.

Nice work :?

The devil made me do it

You can upload a highly detailed pic from your PC/mac and the forum squeezes it to the optimum for viewing. I uploaded a 1270*1050 avatar and it got resized perfectly to 150*120

How clever is this forum board? can it detect what side of the picture is the longest and only adjust that side to the minimum.
-
also noticed that some older post's and replies are missing some text or pictures, but I guess thats normal
And another thing, how will the star and title system work?
Will the stars and title update along with posts ?

Yes there has been loss of text, and not just on older posts.
Compare the banter Dazz and I were having in the ATTENTION thread, regarding the removal of attachments.
In response to him saying he doesn't post much, I said what a little liar he was. My text is not there. Later in the same thread Dazz said something which again, has been lost.

I presume the green tick indicates unread posts. If so do I need to enter each and every one to show read?
Some of the writting is missing in top right.

Scroll right down to the bottom. At the right hand side is a link that says "Mark ALL messages as read"
-
Can't find how to change 5. or 3.
Quote from the HELP pages
Note that most forums are likely to be configured to show the date and time of the last edit, but the administrator(s) may also allow a short period to elapse before this happens
Which suggests that it might be possible to turn off edit marks. Not that it matters that much

I think I found this under the theme settings. It should really be able to be changed in permissions per user group, but I guess while SMF is an improvement, it can't have everything (especially since it's free).
Oh - also BTW, all posts made in the new forum will be overwritten once it gets properly moved over.

the green ticks are new posts. The first time you login to the new site
have a quick to see if there are any posts you haven't read and then
scroll down to the bottom and click on mark messages read.
The login area in the top right corner should be fixed. If any one is using
a screen resolution smaller than 1024 or are not viewing the site in full screen
then there is not much we can do.

My screen res is 1024 x 768. and viewing full screen.
Any further advice otherwise I'll just accept?

Just looked.
Can see all now.
Great jopb being done by all.
Question:
In the log in screen you can tick a box to "Always stay logged in:"
I presume this to overide the "Minutes to stay logged in:"
Also, when you log out this is disabled as when you log in next time you need to retick.
