Unfortunately its still by foot, as my i30 has not been delivered yet. (about 4 weeks away, apparently)
Basically, I'm just saying Hi, look forward to being an active member of this wonderful forum.
Went a new SR Continental Silver, extras were bluetooth and reverse parking sensors.
I wonder if the dealer is feedin'me a porky. Curious when I read through this forum to see waits of 7 months, this sort of thing.
Then I started getting concerned con was to sign you up and string you along well into 2009.
Anyways, nice to meet you all, I'm from Melbourne.
I'm already having sleepless nights thinking about long weekends away with the new wheels.
It'll be so nice to not have to drive what is an absolute POS.
Kind Regards

Delivery date of the next shipment is Sydney: 12th December, and usually you'll wait a week for them to unload it & get the car to the dealership and detailed. My dealership decided to take that as a cue to not have it ready until after Christmas, but push em hard they'll get it before then. If for whatever reason your car isn't on that shipment, you'll get an 09-build-date model at least... That's not really much of a consolation is it?
Make sure to update your profile with your location and current car details ... "Rides: Feet"

thanks very much, just updated profile as per your suggestion. Thanks for the info. The 'official'date they have given me is 18th Dec but I'm not betting the house on it.

The two main reasons for the delays:
A strike in Korea which lasted longer than usual.
Heavy demand in Europe.
The strike is now over, and there is a new Hyundai plant in operation in Europe, so the delivery times should be much closer to estimates.

thanks everyone for your hospitality, your kind words.
Ordered the vehicle only 3 weeks ago or so.
I guess if reading the forum has taught me one thing its to lower my expectations re the ultimate delivery date.
Thanks for all the info, I'm cautiously hopeful I'll be loading Christmas presents into it.

i ordered mine on 10-10-08 so about 5 weeks ago and i was told it would be in on the 10th of this month - they ment into australia/melbourne i meant here, but theres been a hold up supposably its arriving into melbourne on wednesday 19th... then im expecting another 1-2 weeks. in life im actually a salesman so i managed to make the issue seem like his fault (even though i know its not) to squeeze a little more out of the dealership.
