Title: Attn of our Oz members - World's first 'tax' on Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7
Post by: eye30 on June 17, 2012, 15:07:17
The Australian online retailer Kogan.com has introduced the world's first "tax" on Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) browser.

Mr Kogan said that even though only 3% of his customers used the old version of the browser, his IT team had become pre-occupied with making adaptations to make pages display properly on IE 7.

People still use Explorer?

I guess that if he puts that up, people go and download something else to save money, thus he doesn't have to spend the time and money programming for it.

Oh and he has received a truckload of free publicity for doing it too....

Plenty do, in fact up until recently it was the World's most popular web browser, only recently being surpassed by Google's Chrome... :)
