Post by: Pikapolonica on November 27, 2008, 20:56:58
As the subject states, what positive and negatives have you found out once taking ownership of the i30?

To be honest, I can find no negatives with the car at all.
And I've driven quite a few cars

Positives:   Everything except ....

Negatives:  The blind spot out the back when reversing is bigger than Texas.

Hi PP,

The Positives including Torque (in the diesel) economy, solid road feel, attractive and functional interior etc.etc outweigh the few negatives more than 5 to 1 (I.M.0.)

By negatives I mean minor things we'd all probably change including instrument lighting on by default even during the day...

There was an early thread from probably the middle of the year where people listed things they would change but I can only find this recent one that doesn't have much in it ? (no offence Eyma - the earlier one had a difinative list of everything that could be done to improve the i30 - but none of them were "major".

I'd DEFINITELY change the wait time between laying down your deposit and receiving the vehicle.

well, first off Dazz sumed it up about perfect.
i think they could improve a few things, but for the money we pay, they are very good value. and if they stay as reliable as they have in 08, for 09, what more could we ask.
nothing is ever perfect and everything has it's problems. just Hyundai got the i30 CRDi close to perfect to me.
Cheers
also not one problem since i picked mine up not even a flat tyre or the need to top up water or oil leavel. 19,000k, so very happy.
i should also say, a wise man once said a car is only as good as the driver that uses or abuses it daily.

Factory bluetooth and a turbo timer would be the cherry on top of the cake.  I didnt like the random feature on the stereo when playing MP3's but someone (Thumper?) pointed out holding down the RDM button gave ALL RDM - great!

Hi all,

We love our i30,(USB ,low down torque, economy, roomy internal space) all positive, however we would like to see more substantial floor covering. We were lucky enough to score some i30 mats in the deal and can more than recommend them to take the wear and tear.
