Title: Flat spot on takeoff
Post by: Gericho on August 27, 2012, 13:57:46
Just noticed on my new GD i30 auto that while travelling slowly in a car park and then going to exit, I have experienced a flat spot. It occurred when i slowed down and stopped. I went to take off and car died for a good second or so. Any thoughts?

yes I have the petrol 1.8L. A friend of mine has a Fiesta 6 sp auto and he has experienced a similar problem. He reckons it could be the computer thinking that the car is taking off normally but then slows suddenly (such as in bumper to bumper traffic). There's a lag between the time the accelerator goes done and the computer dropping the gear back a cog. Sounds reasonable but would like a technical opinion.
thanks

I would get it checked at the first service  :undecided:
