As we know dark cars require a lot of work to maintain that showroom shine and I have previously extolled the virtues of the Turtle Wax Black Box for black cars, but did point out at the time that it is a product which requires a lot of elbow grease and patience.
I have tried another set of products and would recommend them or their counterparts for other vehicle colours with no hesitation.
Poorboys Black Hole showroom glaze is designed for black or very dark coloured cars. It is a liquid glaze which can be applied by hand or by machine, I have tried both and I can report that it is as easy to use by hand as mechanically. It is very easy to apply with an applicator sponge and is easily rubbed to a haze as per the instructions and then left to haze completely before buffing with a clean microfibre cloth. Buffing reveals a beautiful lustre which deepens the colour and on the metallic Hyundai Ultrablack paint really brings out the beautiful sparkles hidden within the paint. Easy on and easy off, it dos not mark plastics or chrome, has a lovely smell of blueberries and an excellent product which I highly recommend.
The glaze should be sealed after use and Poorboys Blue Natty Paste Wax is a perfect partner. A lovely smell of bubble gum emanates from the tub and again the product is nice and smooth to apply again to a haze then really easy to buff back off. Beautiful!
Poorboys also make a wheel sealer which needs applied and buffed off easily to your alloys up to 3 times to give a beautiful lustre to the wheels whilst also creating a seal to repel the elements. Modern cars tend to create a lot of horrid black brake dust which can be a real pain to keep from staining the wheels, the sealer makes the dust a joy to remove and cleaning of the wheels is achieved quickly and easily with this product applied.
Poorboys make a huge range of products suitable for any colour of car, if you are a detailing fanatic they give excellent results, but even if you are only interested in cleaning the car once in a while, I don't think I have found any other set of products which are so simple to use, superb results can be achieved with very little effort or time. Another high point is that the Poorboys range is one of the very few which is designed to be used in direct sunlight and don't give issues when using at higher temperatures.

I would like to see photos too .. :goodjob: I'm thinking about getting some Jetseal like Rocket recommended :happydance:

Unfortunately Asa I am working Tuesday. Sorry Lester, by the time I finished today it was starting to become dusk, it's getting darker from about 5 pm here now.

Just to clarify my last comment about Jetseal 109, I was not taking anything away from your recommendation Brian.. :-[
Apparently Jetseal 109 is better on some colours than others. From reviews I have read it may not be as good on dark colours and black as what you are recommending.
Thanks to your post I bit the bullet and ordered some. A$59.43 including about $14 postage. Should be enough to do the recommended 2 coats on each car. Considering it is similar to what the dealers try to sell you for up to $1000 I'll be happy with that. :happydance:

I've probably tried most of the car cleaning products on the market over the years. Most are both very expensive and hard work. By far the best I have used - especially for the exterior paint/glass is the Greased Lightening Showroom Shine products. Mainly sold on the UK shopping channels but have seen them start to appear in the larger stores in the UK. Its sold as a waterless car care system - that is to say you can use it without washing the muck off first. I've never been happy with that approach and always wash the car off first. But the product is so quick and easy to apply and take off providing both protection and a lasting shine. I can go round my I30 in about 15 mins. Its a one stop product - I use it on the paint, the glass and the alloys. Their leather cleaner is good, as is the Screen Clear but thats about as far as I go. The other product which takes some beating is Tyre Dressing from AutoGlym.
I realise that car care/cleaning is very personal - but the above works for me.

Just finished giving my 'new' 2011 FD a detailing.
Having clayed it and polished it, it got 4 coats of Jetseal 109 sealant, then two coats of RaceGlaze 55 wax. The Jetseal gives it the gloss; the wax gives depth. The combination has been known to last a year.
