Title: Must read the Handbook

Last night, 7pm and dark, I went out in the car to the local takeaway.

Headlights on I stopped, got out and went to walk towards the chip shop.

As I was walking away from the car I pressed the lock on the remote and the car made the clunk lock sound.

Lights still on I pressed the remote lock again.  Clunk lock sound and the lights went out.

On the way out of the chip shop I pressed the open and the doors unlocked and the light came on.

This was a new one on me as my old i30 the light would go off when you got out and closed the door.

Anyone else noticed this with the new i30?

Yes - same as mine. But it also did that on the previous car.

There is a menu selection for Headlamp Delay and Welcome function.  You are right - you really must set some time aside for reading the handbook

I think in the previous model it was called "Follow Me Home Headlight Function" and was fitted to the 2010 i30 Classic, Comfort and Premium models according to the brochure I have kept.

Sounds about right as our 2008 CRDi didn't have it but Trish's MY11 does  :goodjob:

Solved ---- Mine was a 57 plate - 2007 - and didn't have that feature.
