Hello guys,
I've bought my i30 about a year ago, and i have driven it mostly only at day time. :goodjob2: But now in November/December, i drive it almost always when dark. So i have noticed that the blue lighting is extremely bright. So here is my question, dose anyone know how to turn it down?

Hi rasmus.
Doesn't your i30 have a rotary dashboard dimmer control?

Both my i30's had this and was able to reduce lighting

Hej Rasmus
Welcome to the forum..
The instrumentlight dimmer is located to the left of the steering wheel, if fitted. I don't know with the 2011, but earlier years didn't have that fitted in the Classic trim level.

Hej Rasmus
Came to think about this thread:

There's pic's of the dimmer (rheostat) and how to retrofit it if your car haven't got the feature.
It is actually posted by a Danish guy also with a 2011 i30.. :P

Thanks for the replies guys! I had a look, and it didn't have the dashboard dimmer. :undecided: But is the dimmer the only solution?

It is the simplest
You could probably put in a switch which triggers some sort of in-line resistor wired into the instrament lighting to maybe halve the brightness

Dark sunglasses is an option :whistler:

I assume the blue light you don't like is the radio display That can be turned off or on, but not varied. The instrument light dimmer will dim ALL lights, including your dash display as well. If that's what you want then fitting the rotary switch is cheap and easy to do. There are instructions on here for this.

I've never seen a car with the on/off feature for the ABS. You OZ guys really have that..
...and why..

Police driver training cars have an ABS on/off switch, to enable you to learn how to brake properly on dry & wet bitumen and on gravel and in a shorter distance than the ABS could ever do it in.
