So we had a quick cuppa with Aaron (Tazmaniac) and his cute kids (Aaron's Avatar and his Avatar's little Brother) in Brighton Tasmania earlier today.
It was great to put a face to another name.. Thanks for coming out to meet us Mate :goodjob:
Aarons wife had to work and took the i30 so Aaron was in his other Hyundai (Sante Fe) and we were in the Toy Car so no photos sorry :winker:
-
You're catching up with everyone. :goodjob:
Perhaps we should all move to Tassie. :D
-
Perhaps we should all move to Tassie. :D
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Too many Mainlanders would spoil this place!! :P

But then Tasmania would become the mainland.
A bit like Kiwis call Australia the West Island.
And anyway, what were you Jamie before you went there? :undecided: ;) :D
-
I plead the 5th Amendment to the United States Constitution!! Oh, hang on, I'm not a United Statesian.
Yes, I WAS a mainlander. :whistler:
More mainlanders down here means more work for me (we don't often rescue locals, just lost and tired tourists).
-
It would make the Tasmanian Chapter stronger....... :whistler:
That's what we need - club apparel.
-
The anti association laws would kick in and you'd all end up being arrested! :whistler:
-
Good point.
And I support those. :undecided:
-
Have I told you I don't? :whistler:
-
Have I told you I don't? :whistler:
No, but I could have probably guessed.
I don't mean for the normal people who like riding bikes, I mean for bikie scum who consider themselves the 1%ers.
How's that for starting a topic..... :whistler: ;)
-
We could be the i30%ers?
-
 Love it.

That's the trouble with it though, Jamie...my understanding of it is that it covers everyone, not just the 1%ers... :fum:

You can't introduce legislation specifically for some and not for all.
But what needs to remembered is who it is targeting.
It is targeting organised crime gangs including OMCGs.
Not the local bowls or knitting club.
The police certainly have no desire to stop members of legitimate clubs associating.
The problem is that when members of organized crime gangs meet (and that includes OMCGs) then crime proliferates.
OMCGs are involved in organised crime and they have no regard or respect for law (the 99%) and in my opinion they need to feel the full brunt of the law.
I have seen how OMCGs operate, I have seen them distribute drugs, I have seen them rape and murder innocent women and then close ranks and refuse to testify at coronial inquests, I have seen them run amok in society with zero regard for everyday citizens and I have seen first hand the disrespect they have for any form of authority.
They are scum. Absolute scum.
I have no time for them now, I never did and I never will.
So for those reasons, I support the new anti-association laws because I know who they will be used against and they deserve it.
-
In a perfect world that might be the case, Dave....but me thinks it's open to abuse.... :(
Would you really like to be told you can't associate with the i30 club because some of our members are criminals? :undecided:

A couple of things I've learned in life are (a) Don't believe everything you read in newspapers or see on tv; and (b) Don't trust lawyers. ;)
-
You missed out on the police and the government, Dave... :whistler:
-
I trust the police. ;)
-
Silly boy.....
Trust no-one....
-
Spent 32 years with them, Rusty.
I know them pretty well. :)
-
On the whole the Police might be ok but I know from personal experience that there are a few pigs amongst them...
Hey, have we drifted a whisker off topic? :whistler:
-
We certainly have. (but I thought we would). :whistler:
And given our respective ages Rusty, your life experiences have got you to where you are and mine have got me to where I am, so I don't think either of us is going to change our minds here.
So I'll stick with my support for the police and the legislation and you stick with your doubts and we'll leave it at that.
I have nothing against motorbike riders, just bikies. ;)

I don't like Bickies either.. They make me fat(ter) :fum:
-
No worries, Dave...
On the whole I do support the Police but I also know many laws get bought in with the best of intentions and end up being abused.
My concern is that there are already laws in place to deal with these 1%ers, so why do we need more?
By the way, when I said "personal experiences" I didn't mean as in breaking the law.... :whistler:
Cheers :)
