GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => DIESEL => Topic started by: Bobb on January 09, 2013, 15:59:29

My i30 diesel estate has just had its second service. I reported a fault with the dashboard/trip computer light which for the last few months flashes between the bright and dim settings and eventually stays dim, which means the on board computer/odometer is impossible to read during the day.
The Hyundai dealer checked during the service and said it was a fault and would be cured by fitting under warranty a new unit.
Now they say the problem is well know to Hyundai, who are looking for a fix.
Anybody else had or got this problem?

I think someone in here had the complete instrument cluster replaced because of just that, but can't remember who.

Welcome Bob, certainly not a common fault (bit of a strange one actually)

Hi All, Just to say I had the same problem on a 2010 i30 Comfort diesel estate. LCD display flickered and often stayed very dim, not critical but annoying. It was intermitent and guess what......wouldn't do it when I took it in for the 4th year service but mentioned it to them and that it was a noted problem. They checked it out and have agreed to change the dash pod under warranty. No hassle and should be done next week. So a big plug for those guys / gals at ALL ELECTRIC GARAGE (HYUNDAI), KIDDERMINSTER as their service price and half price MOT were also way lower than 5 other local dealers......and no, I don't work for them, just happy to reward excellent service.

They should all aspire to the service you received.
Well done to them.
