Now the i30 has been on sale for 10 months in UK and as long in Oz has any member heard if there are any recalls yet?
-
Don't jinx it eye30

The reason I ask is that I reported to HY CS a few weeks after getting my car that the water from the washer jets only hit botton 1/4 of windowscreen..
They reponded by confirming the jet nozzles do not move and indicated they would pass my comments to HY HQ.
-
I remember your post. Mine also only hits lower third or so but is so dammed powerful that it spreads nicely upwards, especially when moving at speed.
However, if your's needs attention then I hope HY CS can sort you out. Can't see it being a recall jobby though - more like "when you next come in for service we'll have a look if it can be changed"... etc
-
I can't recall
seeing one!
-
Hey Eye30, what you need m8 is one of our sydney window cleaners!! :D
-
Know why you haven't seen him?
He's got a new patch in UK cleaning our i30's windows!!!!!!!!!!!
-
LOL i'd beleave that m8, have you got those window cleaners there too?
-
We have the odd one or two but not in bikinis (to cold and wet)
-
Car going in for 12 month service next week so before I take it in does anyone know if THERE HAVE BEEN ANY RECALLS etc so I can get then sorted out at the same time.
-
Hyundai Systems will flag any work that needs doing. If it was safety, you would have been called. Happened on my 3 Fiat Tipos in 1990 and once on my Megane.
Now stop worrying will you

When you do the servicing bit, ask if they have any replacement windscreens.. just.. in.. case.. someone.. needs.. one.
Worth asking I reckon. Mention I've had to wait over 2 weeks (due to be done probably/hopefully this weekend).

Hi eye30,
I think that Recalls must be listed here. http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp
As of yet there is no listing on the site for the Kia Cee'd or the Hyiundai i30.
I would hope that means the news is good.

There would be advantages for the clients if the weather was cold.
Seriously though, I noticed that when our last service was done the service sheet referred to a check for any outstanding recalls or service requests from Hyundai. It appears this is done as a matter of course.
Incidently, at our 30 000km service they didn't have a fuel filter, but they have made a note and will do it at the next service. The service manager had noted we had the whole filter unit, including the cartrdge, replaced under warranty to fix a fuel airation issue, so he wasn't concerned about leaving it to 45 000.
Like most manufacturers, Hyundai keep excellent records of all work done on each vehicle.

Bob my owners book say's fuel filter does not need replacing till 60,000k? or 48months so why do they want to change it at 30,000?
Eye i think its law here that if there is a safty recall the manurfacturer must notify the owners by post, and the RTA will give you a defect if you do not have the problem fixed.
will we call you our recall boy?LOL cheers
-
Recall Boy
eye like it :D

Not in Uk - you usually find out these things when it is in the press - again usually after accidents.
will we call you our recall boy?
I like that.
I'll change my forum name

Bert Newton said it to Mohammad Ali during an awards ceremony speech many years ago. Ali almost decked him, what with the term "boy" being a reference to a slave in the USA.
