Title: G'day from Sydney!
Post by: misswicket on January 14, 2009, 12:56:51
Hi all,
I ordered my new MY09 SR manual in Vivid Blue last Friday and after finding this forum, It double confirms I have made the right decision!! My brother thinks I am an idiot but he is just a brand snob and I know he will change his tune when he has a drive (if I let him)
I am so excited, Its a bit of a step up from the 14year old Ford Focus Trio I inherited from mum! I have already arranged to have a fully integrated sunroof installed along with window tinting as soon as the car is delivered! Looking forward to learning heaps from everyone and giving feedback on my hot little number!
Bye for now :)

Welcome to the club Misswicket. As you are getting an SR model I assume you are in Aus.. but I didn't know they ever sold Ford Focus Trio here (only Festiva trio I thought?) and also didn't realise fully integrated sunroof was an option over here ) SR in Vivid Blue should be very shmick  :D

shmick

I've learned yet another word from my Aintipodean friends :)

Just have to find out its meaning now... :P

Think I used the word on here before and you queried it M8. But last time I didn't put a "h" in it. Because you queried it last time I googled and found out it was supposed to have a "h" so now I spell it correctly (so thanks heaps )

:D hehe, good old banter. I do remember your "smick" but not shmick. In fact, looking back, it looks like it's "schmick"

You can have either smick or schmick (schmik is more common), I haven't heard shmick.

But thread hi jack aside, welcome Miss wicket. You made the right choice with colour. What was your decision making process between petrol and diesel? Other than the fact there is no diesel SR?

Regards

Daniel

Hahaha! I spent until this post here wondering how people knew she was from Australia when it wasn't under her profile pic.

Welcome Miss Wicket.

RE Sunroof - afaik it's an optional extra that a dealership will offer and then outsource to a local sunroof installer.

Hi Misswicket,
Great choice of car.
As eye30 said, I imagine your name is a reference to cricket, I like it :D
I am a massive cricket nut myself. :D

Hi All,
Thanks for the warm welcome, Yep I am going crazy, I have driven so many cars recently in the search for a new one, I had forgotten what I actually drive. It is a Ford Festiva Trio but its definitely 14 years old! :) I am counting the days till I pick up my new baby. Sorry to disappoint eye30 but my name has nothing to do with cricket (not that its a bad game), it has more to do with a furry creature from "Return of the Jedi", long boring story!
Cheers All

They are ewoks, but the main ewok was called Wicket.

Heya, do you know where you are getting the sunroof installed from? I'm really thinking about getting one put in but would like to know of peoples experiences with after market sunroof's.

My dealersip is organising the sunroof install through Webasto (www.webasto.com.au). It was cheaper than organising it myself and its the same product and installer I was going to use anyway. Cost was $2000.
