Title: Does 2010 Australian i30 1.6L CRDI Auto have DPF?
Post by: fastscud on March 02, 2013, 06:17:09
I'm getting conflicting info: the forum seems to suggest all Australian i30 CRDi's don't have DPF, but Autobarn sales said the vehicle I have (above) does.

How do I check?

The owner's manual doesn't say: it only says get xxx oil if it does, and get yyy oil if it doesn't, which isn't helpful ... :-(

I have not yet seen one in Oz with DPF,look on the engine cover near the oil filler cap, there is on all the I30's I've looked at so far a yellow sticker stating that it is not fitted with DPF,to easy welcome to the group

I've never seen an Australian delivered i30 with a DPF. Look for the sticker.
When I spoke to someone from an oil company, he did say that they had been told by Hyundai that some auto trans cars had them to comply with emission laws but manual cars didn't, but as stated, I've never known of one to be mentioned on this forum.

You could always have a look :D

(U1 engine should look similar - mine does)

Sounds easy but it's buried behind the engine and unless you know what you are looking for all the "round bits" look the same.

Easier to say (as has been), NO! (unless we have all been wrong when it's come up before).

Then all the engine stickers would be wrong too, not likely.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Just a follow up: I checked under the bonnet and as you guys mentioned, there's actually a yellow sticker near the oil refill cap that says this is non-DPF so needs ACEA-B4.

cheers!
