Title: Restarting trip/consumption settings
Post by: Rubix on January 14, 2009, 11:59:17
Hey guys, how do I reset my L/100km reading on the trip computer? When I hold it for 2secs it resets the trip distance, but nothing else. Do I have to disconnect the battery or ??

Hi Rubix,
What ever you want to reset, you must put up on the display first. If you want to reset trip meter, keep pushing trip button till the trip meter shows up, than push and hold trip button for a second or two. Same for l/100k or ave speed.
Always works for me anyway.

My trip is automatically reset when I reset the consumption meter

Mine doesn't, I have to reset each seperately.

Likewise on mine, each display is treated separately, thus they need to be reset separately.

I just went out and switched to the display showing 62.2mpg. Reset it. Switched to trip and it now shows....  0.0 :(

Shambles can you check how yours works again?

Shambles can you check how yours works again?

I've broken this thread out of the consumption post as it's getting interesting now and I'd like to see what others observe...

I reset my trip every time I fill up, but rarely reset the consumption meter. When I switch to consumption meter and reset by holding it down for a couple of seconds, my trip is also reset.

Am I unique?

(I thought this might have been asked before, couldn't find it in 'search', so I was trying to conceal my question in another thread... foiled again, Pinky)

Your mummy always said so... :D
Maybe its a firmware thing? Maybe its UK vs Aussie specs?

Thanks for the tip though guys. I have a habit of writing down the Odo/Trip last in my log book, so it only reset that. Dingleberry!

"Dingleberry"

Another new term I will have to research :D

I've no intention of taking "this problem" up with the dealer as I [as said previously] don't use my consumption meter much, but it is an interesting difference between the settings of our respective vehicles.

Eye30, are you saying your computer settings can be reset individually?

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dingleberry

I didn't know about the first definition. LOL! (Where do I get the :jawdrop: smiley from?)

Anyway - "2. An incompetent, foolish, or stupid person."
