Hi,
I'm going to buy new rims for summer tires for my i30 and I like this one:
http://www.felgi.pl/felga/rial/catania (http://www.felgi.pl/felga/rial/catania)
I'm thinking about 16'' and my question is if size 7,5x16 will be fine for i30 2012 ? In onwer's manuall it is stated that Hyundai recomends 6.0x16 for 16'' rims.
What about ET for Rial Catania ? both 38 and 48 will be ok ?
Thanks for help!

Welcome Carver..
Interesting wheel design, don't mind it but probably not my number one choice.
I think 7.5 would be too wide and could effect your turning circle significantly (amongst other things)

I can't answer this for you. There are too many possible variables. I'd be sticking to a max of 6.5" width on 16" rims though.
As for fitment you'll need to be guided by a local supplier.
All the best.

Welcome to the forum, carver.

Local supplier says that 7,5x16 will be fine, but I'm not so optimistic ;) do You know what is ET for Hyundai 16'' rims for I30 ?

I think the rim offset, at least in Oz, is 51 on 16".
Haven't got a fitment manual in front of me.

According to http://www.hyundai.co.uk/new-cars/i30 (http://www.hyundai.co.uk/new-cars/i30)
the Style / Style Nav is fitted with 205/55-16 tyres on 6,5x16" rims.
Personally I would not use a 7,5 for 205 tyres.

I tried to fit 7,5x16 to I30 and rims are too wide. Maximum "safe" rims wide is 7'' for I30.

Hi, I ordered Rial Catania (''16 with rubber 205/55 R16) few weeks ago. Now I'm reading this topic and I'm corned that rims wouldn't fit to my car because of the width (7,5). AS RIAL catalog showed there was my model in list that can be fitted with Catania. CARVER what model of rims did you tried to fit on your vehicle or it was just a theoretical issue that is "too wide". I think ET parameter also matters in this case. Thanks

I tried 7,5x16 ET 38. ET 48 might be better, comparing to ET38, tyre is moved 10 mm "into" the car. But I think that it would be to close to Mc Pherson collumns. Generally 7,5 seems to be to wide for i30, that's why Hyundai recomends maximum 7''.

I just discovered some info about different sizes of rims:
http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp?item=Wheel-Tire%20size%20comparer&sw1=195&ar1=65&bd1=15&rw1=6.0&et1=46&sw2=205&ar2=55&bd2=16&rw2=7.5&et2=48&text1=&text2= (http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp?item=Wheel-Tire%20size%20comparer&sw1=195&ar1=65&bd1=15&rw1=6.0&et1=46&sw2=205&ar2=55&bd2=16&rw2=7.5&et2=48&text1=&text2=)
with this info I'm now more confident that 7.5 would fit on - because rim moves forwards suspension elements by 7 mm, and towards fender 3 mm, I checked visually situation and it seems to be OK. Also Hyundai in CoC gives an info that 225/45 7.0x16 ET53 tyres can be fitted on.
Also I think that such producer as RIAL wouldn't risk to put wrong info in catalog. Official site of RIAL do not offering CATANIA for I30 because it not confirmed by CoC I think
Maybe I'm just calming myself - we will see. I'll let you know when I'll receive rims

Do You know what is ET for Hyundai's recomended 7.0x17 rims ?

I'm Running 17x7's on our 2011,215/45/17's,not a problem :goodjob2:,from what I have read and understand the new body style is running on the old platform, with a few tweeks but don't take that as gospel
