Hey guys
First post and fairly new to the forums. Got a set of 18 x 7.5"Mazda 3 wheels. Tried them on my FD Slx. all seems to sit well with no rubbing etc.one thing i realised the offset is +52.5 and I am just wondering if these will cause any other troubles due to the offset. Centre bore size is the same as originals 67.1 and tyres are 225/40/18 and within correct load rating.

not sure whether it will cause mechanical problems,but could cause some legal ones,by changing the wheel offsets you have changed the original tracking of the car,I know in rolling radius you are only able to change it by 3%,but I'm sure that you are not permitted to change the tracking of the vehicle,I'm no expert only passing on what I have heard and read,others here may be more offay with MV Reg's

R15 185/65 (5.5J x 15 5x114.3 d67.1 ET47.0)
R15 195/65 (5.5J x 15 5x114.3 d67.1 ET45.0)
R16 205/55 (6.0J x 16 5x114.3 d67.1 ET51.0)
R17 225/45 (7,0J x 17 5x114.3 d67.1 ET56.0)
Looks like you will need 56 offset and lock stops

Looks like you will need 56 offset and lock stops
Just on clearance. Fit them to the car, lower it, move it backwards and forwards a few meters to settle the suspension and try them on full lock, both ways. make sure they don't rub epsecially at full lock. Then you need to drive the car. And satisfy yourself it won't do anything unpredictable under emergency braking/ swerving.
Personally I'm against altering offset from the recommended but the difference in this case doesn't seem like much. Others may disagree and I'm not advocating you do it. It's just that sometimes I know people like to "try" things. So the above guidelines should give you something to work on.
Also, make sure the tyres are not poking out beyond the guards. That's a sure attention getter for the police.

the wheels i fitted were +45mm offset and there is no dramas with rubbing at full lock without the rack spacers fitted. although your new wheels are +52.5 offset so they will sit 7.5mm further in (closer to the car) you may get rubbing on full lock, but i reckon it will be minimal wich could then be rectified by the hyundai rack spacers fitted to the sr's

Thanks. it gives me an idea. i did try them on one side to see how they looked and there was no scrubbing on front, but i am going to have to put all four on and double check once i give them a good clean. then if all drives well ill have to do something about removing the mazda badge in the centre. will keep you updated. here's a pic from when i test fitted them. what you think?

One of our other members fitted 18" x 7.5" rims and has had no problems.....No idea what offset they were though. :undecided:
