Title: iPod touch only plays mono (With hyundai Cable)
Post by: knightsy on January 20, 2009, 09:04:31
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this: While i was driving home today i noticed when i was playing a song called "Be my escape" by relient K.. it has a part in it where the guitar fades left to right quite quickly however the guitar kept dropping out when it was meant to be in the Left channel.

Turns out from this that my ipod touch was only playing in Mono. I'm a little annoyed because i forked out $110 for the genuine hyundai ipod cable on the weekend.

I'm thinking that if this is common most people wouldn't notice, but I'm fairly picky about my sound; as my wife keeps telling me.

Is anyone else experiencing similar??

Hey there knightsy
Im not too sure what the problem could be, To be honest Im not that knowledgeable.
May i just suggest making sure that your ITouch has the latest firmware on it. How about trying it again, same song, with just using the line in (AUX) If this works, then you will definately know that the cable is duff, and should be replaced free of charge under the standard 1 year manufcaturer warranty. Could be the USB connection has had part of the copper connection broken, came accross this problem with a hard drive a while ago. =) Goof Luck anywayz

Try playing songs with a normal usb stick. And listen. If it still plays mono, then I think a setting is wrong in your radio.
