My wife and I now share a Windows 8 desktop computer - each with our own accounts.
I have a Win 8 Notebook which is used when we are away, my wife has a Nexus 10 Android tablet which she uses both at home and away.
Now for the puzzle.
When my wife uses her Tablet and clicks on Google search - it opens a drop down window showing a list of Google searches either of us have recently made on the desktop using Google search in IE10 and our respective Windows accounts. It also shows recent searches I have made when using the Notebook at home.
This does not happen when I use the Notebook - it only shows the recent searches carried out using the Notebook itself. Also on the desktop computer I can only see the recent searches I have made from my account - and not those made by my wife using her account.
So how does this work?
Does Google store all the searches made from our home IP address and then display them on the tablet via Android when it is used at home?

I'm no expert but i read somewhere that you can link up tablets to the pc and the tablet and pc will "talk"to each other and the latest data is copied from one to the other

I don't think it is that because I have not used any settings on the tablet for it to interrogate the PC and the tablet is presenting the information when the desktop and/or Notepad are switched off.

Do you share a common google (cloud based) account, like gmail?

Do you share a common google (cloud based) account, like gmail?
My wife has a Gmail account which she uses as standard. I have a Gmail account which is dormant - I never use it.
My normal Email account is Virgin Media - and they now use Gmail servers but their own branding.

I figured that if you were both permanently "logged in" to a google cloud account, it might be recording your search terms (if your browser settings allowed it).
Now I've had another think, that can't be the case.

OK Lester - I have had a gander - but I cannot see any clue as to why my wife's tablet is monitoring my google searches. The tablet has not been sync'ed with the Desktop or Notepad computers.
Thanks for the article though - it was interesting.

Bit off topic, I know...
Do you use Skype, Alan?
I've found that if you have it on more than one machine any conversations you may have using the instant messenger appears on all machines....
Could be just as embarrassing...

Interesting reading here:
How Google Instant’s Autocomplete Suggestions Work (http://searchengineland.com/how-google-instant-autocomplete-suggestions-work-62592)
.. and here's why I mentioned about you and El Libbo being logged into a shared Gooble account:
Autocomplete (https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/106230?hl=en)
If you're signed in to your Google Account and have Web History enabled, you might also see search queries from relevant searches that you've done in the past

Which is why I delete my history periodically. :undecided:

Mine's set up to not save history at all.

What you said, Phil.... :goodjob:
When my daughter was living with me I had it so all history was removed on shut down but these days I'm pretty much the only person that uses my pooter so I keep the history.
It's been handy at times.... :)

Yeah, but fancy having your searches coming up on someone's machine, THAT'S GOT TO BE SERIOUSLY WRONG AND AN INVASION OF PRIVACY, SURELY.
A divorce could result, sue Google ?
