Title: Two Days in a P
Post by: Doggie 1 on May 26, 2013, 10:39:12
Six cars (& nine people) from the Leyland P76 Owners Club of W.A. went on a bit of a drive this weekend.
We met at 0730 hours on Saturday at Armadale and then travelled in convoy down to Pinjarra for breakfast here:

After which we continued on to Collie in the state's south-west and booked in here:

On the way down most of us got flashed by one of these:

We were being extremely careful so if we receive infringements we are thinking that it can't be for much more than 104/105 in a 100 km/h speed zone but if we've done the wrong thing we're all more than happy to financially support our state government who are doing it tough.  :D

After check-in, we headed off to the beautiful Ferguson Valley and had lunch (and a drink or two) here:

http://www.wildbullbrewery.com.au/ (http://www.wildbullbrewery.com.au/)
In fact, we sat under that very verandah for lunch and beverages.  :D

Then we went back to Collie and visited the Collie Motorplex where the Formula Fords and Holden HQ's were practising for race day (Sunday) here:

http://www.speedeventseries.com/the-tracks/collie (http://www.speedeventseries.com/the-tracks/collie)

From there we went and dropped the cars off at the motel and walked to here:

....and here:

http://www.crownhotelcollie.com.au/ (http://www.crownhotelcollie.com.au/)

...and another one that doesn't have a website.

Then back to the motel for some sleep before getting up Sunday morning to a beautiful, home-cooked breakfast here:

A quick re-fuel (for the cars) then a bit of a drive to here:

...where I took some pics for you.  :D

A P76 T-Shirt. I reckon a Deluxe (single headlight) version with the picture on the front would make a great female's T-shirt.  :D

And then it was head for home and back to my global friendly i30 forum where I was missed so much.

The End.

I'm going to see on carsales how much a 'P' goes for ..........

Bit of a Ford bias at the museum (not that there's anything wrong with that)

I don't think you'll find one on carsales.
Occasionally you do, but usually they are sold through the clubs.
We can always find one for someone who wants one.

You were right; none on car sales.

There's one on Gumtree at the moment but I'm not aware of any others advertised.
They are available through clubs though.

Sounds like you had a better weekend than I did,

Managed to squeeze 15.5 hours of overtime, two days of work and my daughters birthday party over three days (well I cheated and went 3 hours into the 4th day).... 7 nights of night work start tonight..... :Pout:
