Hi to u all
ive just purchased a used i30 1.4 and im having problem with spare key, keeps setting off alarm, the remote key works fine. The main dealer tells me that 2007 i30 only came with 1 remote dont know if thats right?? and that a new remote is in region of £150 :Shocked:bit of a rip off. wondered if anyone knew where i can get another remote at a better price???

Yep, the spare will set the alarm off and the 2007 models came with just the one plipper. Crap innit?

Check eBay for a spare one, though you'll need it programming to your i30.

Yes, it was stupid at the time.  An owner campaign (and I reckon it started on here) managed to get Hy to change their thinking.  Some of us even got a 2nd key after purchase.  Power to the people.

Unfortunately for you, your car's first owner did pursue the issue and get one for your car.
