My son commented that he liked the quieter sound of the Indicator on our '12 Touring compared to our '04 Elantra GT.
I like it quieter too.
Sadly Alan, if that was my problem I would be going down the electronics engineer path...Guilt by associating. I'd be doing the same, maybe even sampling a few circuits for just the right customised sound from a parallel accessory.

I have no idea how the current module creates its sound but there is bound to be a couple of connections completing a circuit of some kind, delivering either power or a signal, intermittent or steady. Whichever way it works, the approach to piggyback this connection will be the same. :goodjob:

I have found an auto electrician via my dealership who is booked to do the work on 17th July after we get back from holiday. He has already done four i30's and two i40's for them - hence he has already climbed the learning curve. It will cost £60 but will be worth it - especially if it helps to avoid an accident.
Knowing my luck - he will probably use a siren off a wrecked police car or ambulance.......... :scared:

You realise, two wires from a buzzer inserted in the plug that holds the flasher can will do the same job, about AU$5.00 :undecided:I'll do it for $4.50 :happydance:

Surely it's the M64 piezo buzzer in the second post by TLA that produces the sound and it's this that needs upgrading?According to the schematic, the M64 buzzer is used for the reverse parking system. Perhaps Alan needs to upgrade that as well?
