Title: Hyundai is top-selling car in June
Post by: pidim on July 02, 2013, 01:16:49
"Hyundai has stunned the car industry by topping the sales charts in a bumper run to the end of the financial year. The Hyundai i30/Elantra was the best-selling passenger car in June overtaking the Toyota Corolla and Mazda3 for the first time, preliminary figures show."

Maybe. But both Mazda and Corolla have both sedan and hatch.
And I know the i30 and Elantra are a bit different but I doubt any more so than the other two.

The i30 & Elantra don't even share the same dash, unlike the others...so basically they share an engine and floor pan.  :undecided:

I had a look here. http://www.google.com.au/search?q=mazda+3+dashboard (http://www.google.com.au/search?q=mazda+3+dashboard+pics&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=ALnTUaDIB8KyiAf1xoHIDQ&ved=0CDoQsAQ&biw=1920&bih=908)
I accept some are probably different models, but gee, some of them even have the steering wheel on the other side.

Are you serious?

You have pics of probably every Mazda 3 dash ever made, not just the latest model hatch & sedan that is available in Australia which is what we are talking about...

How about digging up some photos of an Australian model 2013 Mazda 3 hatch dash and an equivalent model sedan's dash?

Just pointing out that the 2 models are just that...2 separate models that, I believe, should never have been combined, Daz.... :whistler:

It's really just a badge.  Elantra / i30, both very similar really.  Ones a sedan, other a hatch.  In US aren't they both Elantra.

Next think we will be discounting the splits between other models from other manufacturers where major interior differences make sitting in them feel like they are different cars.  It's really splitting hairs as I see it.

Perhaps we should add Kia sales to Hyundai's then...... :undecided:

Now there is a brilliant idea. After all, Holden include all the imported models that are rebadged brands from other manufacturers.

you say that one's designed in Germany and the other in USA. I suspect the I30 in Germany and the Elantra in USA.. Am i correct?
