I have a 2008 Hyundai i30 SX CRDi - :p
The Instrument Panel EPS light stays on.
This has just happened recently.
What does this mean?
Does it effect my vehicle?
How to fix?
Thanks in advance.

Are you still within your 5 year warranty (I'm guessing no)?
Is your steering ok (I'm guessing yes)?
-
5 year warranty is up, so No warranty.
Steering seems OK.
I just had a new steering rack replaced under warranty.
I am thinking this may be why my EPS light is on.

Steering angle sensor needs adjustment.
We had a similar occurrence here (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=20856).

Thanks for all your help so far.
Sent an email off to my Hyundai Service Center yesterday, asking them to fix
"as has been issue since fix of steering rack".
I think and I am pretty sure this is reason.
Do I have a point?
PS
By the way this was the reply
"not too sure why that light is coming on do you want to drop the car off to me tomorrow and we will have a look."
So I guess I am off again to Hyundai Service, to get it looked at. Fingers crossed and hope is something simple.
and
Hopefully they will fix for free.
Thanks in Advance

If they fix it, make sure to ask what was the cause.
Steering angle sensor needs adjustment.

OK
Just got back from Hyundai Service Center, and the verdict was that after the new steering rack was installed they had not done a final calibration.
Report
Found the steering angle eps not calibrated
Recalibrated the eps system
So now all is ok
Thanks for all you help everyone
