Title: What headlight bulb?
Post by: Special K on September 27, 2013, 10:08:17
Hi, I've got a headlight out, just the bulb has blown.
i dropped into a supercheap quickly today during work and their little list of whats compatible for what cars did even list anything with an "i" prefix from hyundai.  no i30, i20, i40 etc.
and as i wasn't in the car and haven't even had a look didn't know what bulb to get.

any recommendations?

If you want lots of light, you can buy one of those + 50% (or more) bulbs, but they will not last very long time. If you buy a "normal" one, the light will of course not be as bright, but it will last longer.

Have fun replacing the globe, Special K....  :)

Best option is to pull the headlight completely out. Some reckon it's a bugger of a job, others, including myself find it very easy...  :D

A search of the forum will bring up a "how to" ...good luck!  :goodjob:

like others have said H1 and H7,highs and lows respectively,I have tried al large variant of globes and I have found the best all round for cost and light levels is the repco pre packs

Here in the UK I bought and fitted some Halfords updated examples which are still working fine after 6 months. The H1's are 448XHS designated and rated 80 watts, Xenon HID style.
The H7's are designated 477LB are rated at 55 watts called "Laser Blue"
All up cost £30.
