Title: dent in front pillar
Post by: dxer2_2000 on November 08, 2013, 05:50:40
Hi guys

Accidentally put a small dent in my front pillar. Can anyone suggest  a small enough suction cup dent puller, small enough to use on the pillar? Most Ebay sellers only have the 5.7cm one, which I tried but is too big to use on the pillar. It can't get enough surface area to stick. 3 ~ 4 cm sized cup would more likely work?

TIA

A photo would be a good idea.

I very much doubt that a 3 or 4cm sucker would have enough "suction" to pull a dent out of a pillar - which are usually made of much thicker steel panels that say doors.

A 3 cm sucker would be only a quarter as powerful as a 5.7 cm one.

Might have to get a mobile repairer to fix it (they should have the gear).

They might have to drill a small hole to pull it out then fill and spray??

Given the size us it worth repairing if the paintwork has not been damaged

Without a picture, and depending on the dent size, I'd probably elect to just grind back, fill and spray to avoid weakening the pillar further.

That sounds  like a plan.. Hopefully you can get paint matched and put in an aerosol can in your area.. :goodjob:
