Hi,
Has anyone had an idea or has ever experience that the stereo suddenly turns the volume down gradually down to zero. I have a 2008 model.
I already took it to the dealer, they "fixed" it. It was OK for 2 weeks and then happens again today. I have 1 year warranty on the repair. But before bring it back I would like to know what else I can do?
I'm considering installing a third-party but the issue is to find a plastic frame for it so it fits perfectly. Plus I'd like the USB option and have the temperature in the LCD.
Thanks.

I take it it is not original fit supplied with the car otherwise it would be 5 year warranty.
Mine reduces the volume when the ta, traffic news, activates otherwise ok

That 5 year warranty is country specific.
Here in DK we didn't get the 5 year warranty before 2010 or 2011, don't remember exactly. My 2008 only had 3 years new car warranty.

So wonder what the original warranty period is in Estonia

Had an issue like this on our ix35. Only observed it once. The service department suspected it was linked to issues with the cruise control, not directly, but caused bt the same root cause, namely the clock spring in the steering wheel. Has your i30 got volume controls on the steering wheel? If so this could be a possible answer.

No, it doesn't have. This is the basic model. But I guess the connections are somewhat there.

Well, the car had 5 year warranty but is bit older than that. So warranty does't apply anymore.
Is there a way to disable the reaction to traffic announcement?

I got the stereo replaced. Thank you all.

Result!
But what made them replace as it was out of warranty?

Good question. I just called back explaining that what they "fixed" didn't worked either. They offered a replacement. I think i just got lucky :)
