Hi guys here are some pics of my reversing camera that I have installed. It completely replaces the original mirror (not one of those crappy clip on ones) and I love it. You cannot tell that there is an LCD screen behind it which is great.

Really good seller and good price you just have to make sure you ask for the hyundai/kia bracket
I ran the cable along beside the roof and the windscreen and tucked it into the roof limning so you can't see it. It then goes down behind the side pillar, behind the dash, to the floor and along the door sills all the way to the back and through the bumper.
The only wire you can see is in the photo from the mirror stright up to the roof. You can get a wireless one for a little bit more but I think it worth having a wired one, I have heard people having issues with wireless ones.

thanks Jesse.
Did you have problems dismounting the existing rear view mirror and fitting the new mirror mount?

thanks Jesse.

No it wasn't too difficult, it is on there pretty tight but if you just use a flat head screw driving to help remove the clip it will come off fairly easy.

@Jesse91 , I like what you did with your reversing camera, and now Mrs G is putting the squeeze on me to pick something for my birthday, suggesting a reversing cam.
Given that the options are endless and the information quickly gets old, what do you and others recommend for a new set-up for Frugal Firty?
Is it worth getting some dashcam / rearcam combo?
Is there any quality tech that incorporates any worthy new features?
What are the minimium acceptable specs?
This is my first step in my research.
Thanks muchly. :goodjob:

Gonz, I had "The Car Kit Company" :link: Reversing Cameras | The Car Kit Company (http://www.thecarkitcompany.com.au/products/reversing-camera.html) come out and fit mine, better off with a revision only mirror as the ones with dash cam incorporated don't give very good recordings.
I must say my revision mirror and reverse cam is absolutely brilliant, the mirror has auto dimming when bright lights are behind and the 0.1lux camera works great even in the dark.
On cheaper mirrors you tend to notice the camera image square in the mirror which I don't see with mine either :)

Well, now that I have my reversing cam mirror, I'm home with my son while he visits, taking the day off work, but Firty is with Mrs G at her workplace so I'm reduced to spending the time unwinding and straightening the kinks in the supplied cables. :blubber:
-
I hate that! When you have something in front of you that you're keen to do but can't :crazy1:
Gonz, what happened to Elena's car? I thought she got herself a new one :undecided:
-
She's still umming and ahing. The last visit to a dealer was to check out a GD Elantra with leather trim and all the gizmos. Maybe we'll have to check out a PD now. :D
-
Gonz, she might be tactfully holding off until the N model is released :honk: :D the Kona is going to be nice as well which I might be contemplating :workitout:
-
She did say she liked the look of the Tucson, so she's open to the crossovers and bigger bodies. :D

I'm intrigued but know I shouldn't question further :snigger:

@Jesse91, the picture of the camera's wiring looks like you drilled into the lens and not the metal. Is that right? (I'm thinking hard about the tiny details now). And my wiring includes RCA connectors that add thickness. Did you manage to tuck such things into the roof lining's edge without any hassle?
