Title: removing GD premium front bumper
Post by: stone on November 15, 2013, 06:14:29
I've just fitted a pair of drl fog lights to my wife premium, and in doing so came across a problem removing the front bumper.
It appeared easy at first but just couldn't get the bumper to come off the area under the headlight, and not wishing to force too much spent a lot of time removing all the screws ( 3) on the side of the mudguard, which still didn't let it come free.
The answer turned out to be the headlight washer cover plate, all you have to do is pull up and out, then unclip the cover off the nozzle.
So,
1/ remove windage tray from underneath, 4, 10 mm bolts & 4 plastic clips
2/ remove 2 plastic clips from mudguard lower tray, both sides
3/ remove 6 plastic clips from top of bumper adjacent to radiator
4/ remove 8 mm screw from mudguard / bumper joint, both sides
5/ remove headlight washer covers, pull out, up and unclip.
6/ loosen headlight bolts, 1, 12 mm & 2, 10 mm
6/ with help, carefully pull, out and forward sides of bumper disengaging clip strips at mudguard joint and under headlight.

mm socket size for all bolts screws above.
to remove clips carefully unscrew phillips head pin, and with a fine flat blade screwdriver or finger nail in the gap between the screw and the plug, lever gently to engage the thread whilst unscrewing

Nice - were they third party or genuine hyundai ones?

Another of the members here in QLD has done similar to his i30 with a pretty decent write up on the steps.
