Hey guys,
Do your Hyundai dealer offer "Touch up paint stick" or s.th like this?
I saw this in KIA Motors UK -- http://www.kia.co.uk/accessories/builder.asp?model=pro_cee%27d
(http://www.picvalley.net/u/1734/1228747362477305855.BMP)
I'm interested in this. And they are only 4 pounds.
Our dealer in Bulgaria doesn't offer this. I think, that our UK fellows could check this in their Hyundai dealer. Hyundai and KIA are one brand :)
If this is offered s.where, I would like to help me to receive such packet :)
Greetings

Hi Dani,
That's interesting.. Hyundai don't appear to offer that accessory in Australia.
I went to my dealer to get some touch up yesterday, they used to mix up a little 50ml bottle with a brush in it for A$15.
Now they have a local bodyworks place do it and they wanted A$25 for the same little bottle
When I wanted to pay with my plastic card they said A$20 for cash (still too dear in my opinion) - it better match

When I bought my car the dealer threw in a touch up paint stick.
For my car, Stone Black mica, you get 2 sticks:
1 Stone black
1clear laquer
Cost £10 per 2 tubes, so they said!!

That's interesting. I wonder if the black paint has the shiny bits in it.
Never thought to ask about touch-up sticks.

Splendid. I don't suppose you've got a parts number? No matter if not, I can find out I suppose

10x for the info.
Can you find a part number for color "Vivid blue", so I will ask my friend, who works in London, to buy one and than send it to me by mail.
:)

Unfortunately don't have access to that info as they do't have these on the HY UK web site. Will need to go into a dealer for price.
Best thing would be to give your friend the colour code from the plate/registration document or what ever you have in your country and they can visit a local dealer and get price etc.
Warning - make sure it's the same colour code between the 2 countries. Would want you to end up with vivid green.

Interesting that putting "E5014-210009F" into Google [worldwide] search, brings up just a single entry from Hyundai Hungary. Does that count as a google-whack I wonder?

The pens I have are not the same as these.
Mine are in a screw top pots.
1 for black and 1 for laquer.
When you screw the top off you have a fine brush.
You dip the brush back into the pot to refill.
You then dab colour on to cover. Then when dry you dab laquer on to seal/make weather proof.

Sounds like what girls put on there nail's.
here, ( not sure if this count's for all of Australia. but were i am i have not had new car's that get stone chip's go rusty, but this is my first Korrean. might be air or the weather?
i see guy's that specialise in that type of work at used car dealer's. i think i would ask one to do the job for me if i was worried.
-
The stick is just for very very small chips.
Anything more, you would probably need a chip and paint type firm

Finally decided I need a touch-up pen...
http://www.hyundaiaccessorystore.com/Hyundai_Touch_Up_Paint_Pen.html
At these prices, I might just give the dealer a ring...

I got mine from my dealer.
Price not sure - but may be around £5

I left a message for their parts dept to call me at 5pm tonight. Still waiting. Need to colour in the broken surface I still have after the yobs chucked a full no-more-nails tub at Fergie last Feb. Dammed hooligans.
-
Hope it matches better than the touch up I got mixed a while back.. When I touched up a little scuff on the outer edge of my mirror it is about one shade out :'(

When I got my touch up the packet containing the 2 tubes has the code - E5014-210009F
The tube for Stone Black - E5014-210009F plus B280718 in fine print.
Tube for clear laquer - B260713
-
Yeah thanks eye, I wrote that lot down from your earlier post.
Never did get that callback from the parts dept. I dont' want a nail varnish kinda brush, I want a dib-dab-dob pen but if they don't yell back at me I'll never know
-
Just to add another colour to the list, I got a two part paint system for shine red.
The box has a hanging card back, with the part number E5004-210000JA.
Comprises one touch up pencil, of shine red paint with E5004-21000JA on the top of the label and B330846 on the bottom of the label and a clear lacquer, B240810.
The brushes in the tubes are too big and coarse, so I use either a fine artists brush or a cocktail stick to do the touch ups with.
Cheers
Mark

I just ordered the touch up stick from my dealership.
Arrives tomorrow (they have to order it in) and the cost is £5.33 which includes a lacquer stick.
Bargain. Pity it's a brush and not a pen as I'm hopeless at applying touchups using bristles

Like you I tend to touch up more than the scratch.
So. I put small pieces of masking tape around the scratch. This way the paint goes on the scratch and not where is shouldn't.
When dry, remove the tape.
Hey presto a first class job by a 500th class expert.
PS Happy touching up (ops may be wrong word!) shambles
-
The brushes alway have too wide a bristle stroke, remove brush from paint and clean paint from brush. Use a pair of fine nail scissors to remove the outer edges of bristles leaving a fine point of bristle. Hey presto a much finer brush which you can actually control :D
-
Cheers chaps. Useful advice :)
-
i came up with a similar postal cost to Dave  [im a driving god]
-
That link doesn't work Steve :'(
-
i cant work out why,i did the postal pricing on the site like the pic in Steve's post and it said i was up for $125 post and $19 odd dollars for the paint pen.after i posted my info, that link wouldn't work anymore.
-
LOL $125 for postage... does it come in a gold envelope with diamonds spelling out your address :P
-
wtf is what i thought when i saw the postage,it was only $40 odd dollars to Steve in the UK.
